PETRONAS and Phoenix Petroleum executives shake hands after signing the memorandum of understanding for downstream marketing collaboration in the Philippines.

KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) and Phoenix Petroleum have agreed and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). To develop a collaboration in downstream marketing sector and related technology solutions in the Philippines.

Phoenix will have access to PETRONAS’ branded marketing products. Including its gasoline and fluid technology, according to a statement from the company. PETRONAS would also increase its presence in the Philippines as a result of the partnership.

Ahmad Adly Alias, vice president of downstream business for PETRONAS’ refining, marketing, and trading division, stated that the company was “enthusiastic” about the potential of offering clients in the Philippines a superior fuel experience.

“In order to provide a smooth experience to more road users throughout the world, we will continue to innovate our range of offerings, from our award-winning fuels generated from Fluid Technology Solutions to our cutting-edge digital and sustainable solutions.”

“This synergy promises to be a new experience for our customers with the technology and expertise of PETRONAS as the largest fuel retail network operator in Malaysia, combined with the deep knowledge and experience of Phoenix in terms of the local market,” said Phoenix Petroleum president Henry Albert Fadullon.

After signing their initial agreement in 2017, when Phoenix Petroleum bought out PETRONAS’ entire LPG business in the Philippines. Which is now held by the company’s subsidiary, Phoenix LPG Philippines, Inc., the two businesses have now collaborated once again.
