EAST HAMPTON, September 24 — Food Network announced on Wednesday that a brand-new season of Be My Guest with Ina Garten will premiere Saturday, October 3 at 12pm ET/PT on Food Network, streaming the next day on HBO Max. The story begins, as it always does with Garten, at home. The host — known to viewers as the Barefoot Contessa — films the series from her East Hampton house, welcoming friends old and new for cooking and conversation.
What unfolded in the announcement is a guest list that moves from pastry kitchens to farm fields.
A pastry chef opens the season
The season opens with Christina Tosi, founder of the Milk Bar dessert empire. In the premiere, Garten serves Smoked Salmon Tartines and Gravlax Sauce while Tosi shares personal stories about life-changing career decisions and rising through the pastry chef ranks. Tosi then takes over the kitchen to demonstrate Milk Bar’s legendary Birthday Cake.
It is a pairing that puts two very different American food careers at the same counter — Garten’s long arc through cookbooks and television, Tosi’s climb through the professional pastry brigade.
Jeffrey Garten, and six decades
The second episode features Garten’s husband, Jeffrey Garten, who lives in the same home. He sits for an interview in which, according to the announcement, nothing is off limits. After sharing Easy Butternut Squash and Apple Soup, Jeffrey recalls his “love at first sight” encounter with Ina, the challenges of their long-distance relationship, and highlights from their six decades together.
Ina then teaches Jeffrey to make Challah French Toast with Seriously Crispy Bacon. At its heart, the episode is a marriage story told in a kitchen, with the couple’s own account of how they got from that first meeting to this table.
Ottolenghi, Barber, and the rest of the table
The following week, world-famous chef, cookbook writer, and restaurateur Yotam Ottolenghi joins Garten. She welcomes him with her classic Coconut Cupcakes before a conversation in which he shares stories from his career and reveals secrets to his revolutionary recipes. Ottolenghi then shows Garten how to make Traybake Chicken with Caesar Salad.
The season also features farm-to-table trailblazer Dan Barber, the celebrated chef behind Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Family Meal at Blue Hill in NYC. Barber joins Garten to discuss career catering coincidences, high pressure hospitality, and redefining restaurant reviews, and shares his recipe for Miso Crusted Squash.
Viewers can visit FoodNetwork.com for behind-the-scenes content, Garten’s fan-favorite recipes, and entertaining tips, and can follow #BeMyGuest for highlights and recipes. Be My Guest with Ina Garten is produced by Pacific Productions for Food Network. Food Network, part of Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ: WBD), is distributed to more than 58 million U.S. households, has a social footprint of 77 million, and its magazine reaches 14.3 million readers.
For those involved, the draw is the format itself — no competition clock, no elimination, just a host, a guest, and a meal. What to watch next: whether the Jeffrey Garten episode, billed as nothing off limits, delivers the season’s most personal hour when it airs in the weeks after the October 3 premiere.
